Theory of Constraints

The theory of constraints (TOC) is an approach to production management and optimising production performance. It was formulated by Goldratt and Cox in the US in 1986. Its key financial concept is to turn materials into sales as quickly as possible, thereby maximising the net cash generated from sales.
